What is concrete slabs?

A concrete slab is an extremely popular structural component for buildings. Concrete slabs are an extremely thick, flat and horizontal concrete layer that can be utilized as a floor or even as roofing. More so, concrete slabs are used to build the floor of some residential buildings as a foundation support foundation or directly on the soil.

Our Concrete Slab Installation Process

Concrete installation isn't for those who aren't confident. Port St. Lucie Concrete Contractors follows the strict concrete slab installation process.

Our top priority is safety when working on concrete construction projects. Before we begin any work, we ensure that we're equipped with safety equipment. Eye protection, long sleeves, long pants, rubber boots gloves, and gloves are all components of our safety equipment. All of them protect us against concrete splashes.

Following the same process as before, we will follow the steps below:

Step 1 - Onsite Preparation

We follow the same procedure regardless of whether working on a small slab or large project. Every project we work on starts by preparing the site. We clean up all evidence of contamination so that we can begin fresh. We ensure that all the necessary materials are readily available as part of the preparation. We schedule the delivery of the materials prior to the actual project begins. This allows us to begin and finish the work in time.

Step 2: Reinforce concrete slab with steel, and then construct concrete forms

After the site has been cleaned and ready for installation We use wire mesh to set concrete forms. Concrete forms are sturdy barriers that help hold concrete mix in place. Concrete forms can also make concrete mix take on a specific shape or style. Rebar is used to strengthen concrete to support larger structures. This makes concrete stronger surfaces.

Step 3: Mixing Concrete Mix

Concrete trucks simplify life. Concrete materials can be mixed more efficiently with a concrete truck. Sometimes, we do manual mixing. In the majority of projects the use of a concrete mixer is required.

Step 4: Pouring Concrete

Once the concrete is mixed, we pour a concrete slab in the forms. It is important to be careful when pouring the concrete mix to ensure that we do not create too many air pockets. The presence of air pockets results from there being insufficient mortar to fill the spaces surrounding the aggregate. We make sure that the concrete mix is evenly distributed across the form.
